(Abbotsbury & Portesham Branch)
The quarterly Branch Committee Meeting will be held at Portesham Methodist Hall at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 4th March, 2010. The principal item for discussion will be the questionnaires which members recently completed concerning the Branch’s future conduct.
The next Branch Meeting (jointly with the Women’s Section) will be at Strangways Hall, Abbotsbury, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday 8th March with a talk by Duncan Matthews on “Paris Cycle Help for Heroes”.
Our Branch Annual Dinner takes place at 7 pm. for 7.30 pm. on Thursday, 25th March, at Weymouth Golf Club. Coach pick-ups will be as follows:- 6.40 pm. Abbotsbury Square, 6.50 pm. King’s Arms Bus Stop, Portesham, and other points by arrangement.

Following the very successful trip on the River Dart last year, this year we are going to:-
The Isle of Wight on Thursday 22nd April
Coach pick-up times are:-
9 am. Abbotsbury Square, 9.10 am. Portesham Green, and 9.30 am. London Road, Dorchester. We shall go by train from Brockenhurst to Lymington Pier, then by Wightlink ferry to Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. We have a reservation for lunch at The Bugle Coaching Inn and time to explore this fascinating little town before we depart on the return journey at 3.55 pm., arriving back in Abbotsbury at about 6.30 pm. The combined rail, ferry and coach fare is £27.50 (payable when booking) plus £2 for non-members who are most welcome to join us. Book with me please.

DORSET HISTORIC CHURCHES TRUST SPONSORED CYCLE RIDE
A big thank-you to everybody who supported us on the sponsored cycle ride in support of the Dorset Historic Churches Trust, whether financially or by providing refreshments to passing cyclists.
We raised a total of £562, half of which will be returned to the Benefice, the other half going towards the work of the trust which exists to help keep Dorset’s many beautiful churches in good repair.
