LETS HARVEST SUPPER AND MUSHROOM WALK
Sunday 12 October

The LETS annual harvest supper and produce exchange is running on Sunday 12 October from 2.30 to 6.30 at Martinstown Village Hall. Since the scheme may be of interest to members of the Dorchester Food Co-operative, Andy McKee will be leading a mushroom walk around the Martinstown area beforehand. This will be a chance to chat informally about LETS, get a look at the Essential catalogue over lunch and you never know, we might even find some mushrooms.

Weather permitting, the mushroom walk will start at 11.30 at the village hall in Martinstown, and will be along the paths and field borders to the west and north of the village. We will aim to finish back at the hall by 1.30, so bring a light packed lunch to eat before the LETS meeting and a dish to share at the event itself. The walk involves negotiating stiles and shallow slopes, so sensible footwear please. Bring your wellies, waterproofs if wet, and if you're really optimistic a basket or cloth bag and pocket knife. Mushrooms are not guaranteed (this autumn has been exceptionally dry), but if we find any there will be a chance to cook and sample some.

If anyone is particularly keen on mushroom foraging, it's likely that Andy will be going out for a walk in the Puddletown Forest earlier that same morning - if you are interested in joining him, contact him on 848689.

The LETS event will be an opportunity to network, socialise, enjoy some entertainment and find out more about our Local Exchange Trading System. LETS members will be trading with their own currency called ‘MARTS’ and if non LETS members wish to join in the trading there will be the opportunity to buy ‘MARTS’ with cash if you wish. There will be chance to Measure your Carbon Footprint and the opportunity to take part in a good quality Clothes ‘Swap-Shop’ via a token system.
